Alanna McCloy brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to her role as Varsity Women's Crew Coach. for Mount Saint Joseph Academy. A 2010 graduate of the Mount, Alanna's rowing career as a Mountie was nothing short of exceptional. She burst onto the scene in 2007, earning Rookie of the Year honors and contributing to a 1st place finish in the Stotesbury Cup Freshman 8+ event. Her dedication and talent continued to shine, culminating in a triumphant 2010 season where she secured 1st place in the Stotesbury Cup Lightweight 8+ event and earned a national championship title at the Scholastic Rowing National Championships in the Lightweight 8+.
Following her stellar high school career, Alanna continued her rowing journey at Villanova University, graduating in 2014. Returning to her alma mater, Alanna continued her passion for rowing by serving in various coaching roles for the Mount Crew program.
Coach Alanna's coaching philosophy is deeply rooted in her own experiences as a Mount rower. She believes in fostering a culture of unwavering dedication, teamwork, and relentless pursuit of excellence. She emphasizes the importance of both physical and mental strength, empowering her athletes to push their limits while maintaining a supportive and encouraging environment. At Mount, Alanna is committed to building a highly competitive women's rowing team that not only achieves remarkable results but also cultivates lifelong skills and a deep love for the sport. She understands the unique pressures and opportunities that come with rowing at the Mount, and is dedicated to helping each athlete reach her full potential, both on and off the water.
